TODAY IS NOT A CLICHE

Today is, the first day of the rest of your life. You must then use every day wisely. If you feel like you really need a break from anything and everyone or whatever the day may bring, then make sure you do that well too. Take the rest of the day off and make it the best day off that you can have and don’t let anything stop you from taking that time. Don’t let anything take the downtime away. Give your downtime the same quality of effort you apply to your work, whatever work that may be. Don’t give up, don’t give in and you will find this is the only way to win yourself back. Be present by being present. That’s not to say that you have to stick with something that doesn’t give you joy. Find joy in doing nothing. Doing nothing is still doing something. Recharging is also refreshing and renewing. Sometimes the easy way out, is the right way out. Give it all you’ve got and if you feel you simply can’t give anymore or that you’ve worked in the wrong direction, change directions and rework it. I’m a firm believer that everything, absolutely everything that happens to you in this lifetime, and perhaps the next one if you believe in that sort of thing, and I do, then absolutely everything that happens to you in this lifetime happens for the betterment of you as a person. When you come to know this you will find that there really is no such thing as failure. Being constantly busy isn’t always being. Listen to your heart beat, listen to the wind, listen to the sounds of silence and drink the clear waters of nothingness.

Sitting quietly, doing nothing, spring comes, and the grass grows by itself” ~ Zen Proverb
